Saints reportedly set to meet with Eupen over Onyekuru move

Saints reportedly set to meet with Eupen over Onyekuru move Southampton have jumped to the front of the queue to sign Nigerian wonderkid Henry Onyekuru, with representatives from Saints set to meet Eupen over a potential move. According to an exclusive report from Own Goal Nigeria, Saints are looking to make their move for the £7 million-rated youngster, who has been linked with a plethora of big clubs over the last couple of weeks. Celtic were reportedly the front-runners in the chase for Onyekuru, having made a bid for the Eupen forward back in January worth £1 million, but it looks as though Saints are leading the chase to sign him. The report states that Onyekuru specifically requested Eupen to host negotiations with the south coast outfit after his side’s play-offs, with Claude Puel stated to be keen to have the Nigerian ready for pre-season if talks are successful. It’s also claimed that Eupen could push for more than £7m and would be keen to include a sell-on percentage in any deal.

Southampton have reportedly stepped up their chase to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean Seri, and have ‘made contact’ with the French club over a potential transfer.

According to a report from French news outlet RMC Sport today, Saints are joined by Leicester in their interest for Seri’s signature this summer and could make a move for the midfielder this summer.

The report states that Seri has a release clause included in his current deal with Nice worth up to €40 million, but it’s inevitably likely that he wouldn’t cost anywhere near as much if he is to move on.

However, RMC believe that Nice are set to open negotiations with the central midfielder over a new contract at the club, amid fears that the Premier League’s allure could prove to be too much for the Ivorian to refuse.

Seri has been in superb form for Nice this season and was linked with Saints just a few weeks ago.
