Palace have no option to make Sakho's move from Liverpool permanent

Palace have no option to make Sakho's move from Liverpool permanent Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that previous reports which suggested that Crystal Palace have an option to make Mamadou Sakho’s loan move a permanent deal in the summer are incorrect. Speaking at his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s game with West Brom this weekend, the German boss told reporters that there is no clause in the deal, which will be a blow to Palace fans. The French international has been in great form for the Eagles since breaking into the squad in recent weeks and most fans would agree that they’d like to keep him at the club on a permanent basis. However, Liverpool are apparently asking for around £30million for the 27-year-old and, if he carries on playing at his current level, there’ll probably be a club willing to splash the cash on him. A high asking price might not completely rule Palace out of the running to sign Sakho but with no clause in place, he’s likely to have a large number of options as his disposal.

Liverpool will be looking for their third successive win when they host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will be looking for another three points as they continue to make their push for Champions League football next season and with Man City not playing a league game this weekend, Liverpool will know that a win will increase the gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s side.

Jurgen Klopp has a number of injury issues to deal with ahead of the game. Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana are still not ready to be included, Sadio Mane is out for the season and now Joel Matip, Lucas and Ragnar Klavan are all struggling with injuries.

Palace join the race to sign Ligue 2 midfielder

Palace join the race to sign Ligue 2 midfielder Crystal Palace have joined Stoke, Bournemouth and Aston Villa in the race to sign Amiens’ midfielder Guessouma Fofana, according to the Daily Mail. The report suggests that scouts from the clubs spent Friday in France, watching the player during Amiens’ game against Le Havre on Friday. Amiens won the game 2-0 – although Fofana was on the peripheral for the majority of the game. He has enjoyed a promising season, scoring three times and contributing three assists in the league. The Frenchman has made 32 appearances since joining Amiens in 2015 and made himself eligible for the Malian national team at the age of 20. Sam Allardyce appears to be on course to guide Palace to Premier League safety and will have one eye on strengthening his squad ready for next season. Allardyce did sign Luka Milivojević during the January transfer window, but with rumours surrounding the future of Yohan Cabaye still circling around Selhurst Park, he will be keen to strengthen in the middle of the park.

At this stage of the season, all that matters are the three points and whichever side Klopp picks, they’ll know that they have to do the business against a Palace side that are in good form and who also have a decent record at Anfield.

With that being said, here’s the XI that I think Klopp will select:

VIDEO REVIEW | Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham .
In this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast, I review the game against Tottenham by giving you my match review, player rankings as well as my Man of the Match. Palace suffered just a second defeat in nine games as they lost out 1-0 at home. Crystal Palace held Tottenham for much of the game, battled well throughout and looked to be heading for a decent point to keep their fine run of form going but fell behind to a 30-yarder from Christian Erikson 17 minutes from time. The evening also hosted a nasty looking knee injury to Mamadou Sakho that saw the influential defender stretched off in some agony early in the second half. How much of a miss will Mamadou Sakho be? Will Palace avoid the drop? All this and more in this week’s e-Crystal Palace Podcast. Subscribe to The e-Crystal Palace Podcast for more weekly podcasts and opinion pieces from Palace fans.
