Parish insisted that Zaha was a key member of the Palace squad and that it would be very difficult for another club to prise him away from Selhurst Park in the summer. " We ' re confident [he will stay]. Wilfred is focused on the end of the season and keeping us in the division.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish says that he is "very confident " about keeping winger Wilfried Zaha at Selhurst Park. The winger is likely to attract numerous offers during the summer, but Parish has insisted that he remains positive over the possibility of keeping the player at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has stated he is confident that the club can keep hold of Wilfried Zaha this summer, warding off potential suitors.

Zaha is in the form of his life having scored six goals and eleven assists in the league and has gained attention from many clubs across Europe, but Tottenham seem to be at the top of the lot to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Zaha put in another exceptional display in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Arsenal, in which the 24-year-old provided two assists.

Tottenham tried to sign Zaha last summer, but their £14 million bid was set aside after claiming it was ‘ridiculous’ by the Palace chairman, but Spurs remain keen on the winger and will try again this summer.

Allardyce urges Zaha to ignore the speculation

Allardyce urges Zaha to ignore the speculation Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has urged star man Wilfried Zaha to focus on the task at hand instead of the speculation surrounding his future. Allardyce, as quoted by the Evening Standard, spoke to the press ahead of his side’s trip to Southampton tomorrow night and Zaha was unsurprisingly a topic of conversation. “Wilf is not listening to what is being said, good or bad, and that does not distract him from his focus on the performances he is giving at the moment.” “For any player, you can get distracted by good publicity as well as bad. He has to focus on the fact he has to consistently perform to the level he is performing at.” There has been plenty of talk regarding the Ivory Coast international’s long-term future at Palace after such a good season, but Allardyce wants his winger to be fully focused on helping the team secure their Premier League safety ahead of the coming term. “That [speculation] happens all the time. If there is any real interest, that interest will be portrayed to Steve (Parish) somewhere along the line. At the moment, it is about creating speculation. Whether it is true or not, most of the time it is not.” Zaha has definitely been the Eagles’ best player this season and is in the form of his life at the moment, but he mustn’t let complacency get the better of him as Palace enter the last, crucial stage of the 2016/17 campaign. “As a manager, you do not want to take the focus away from the player, which can often happen. I have seen it with players in the past, players thinking they are going to move on and they switch off for your club.” Allardyce will hope the former England Under-21 international can be the difference in the clash against Saints. “I do not want him to get distracted from the focus of doing what he is at the moment and trying to get better in our strive to stay in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has insisted he is “very confident ” of keeping Wilfried Zaha during the summer transfer window. Tottenham tried to sign Zaha last summer, though their £14million bid was dismissed as “ridiculous” by the Palace chairman, and remain keen on the Ivorian winger.

Parish is about to start talks with Zaha of a contract extension, as quoted by the Evening Standard. His current contract lasts until 2020 but, with a lot of interest from different clubs, Parish believes that he can keep hold of a player of his level.

“Wilf is focused on the end of the season and keeping us in the division. That’s what he’s keen to do. We’re keen to do that.”

“We’ll sit down and talk at the end of the season and I’m very confident we can keep him here. We’re not looking to sell any players. We’re looking to go up the league.”
