Sakho open to Liverpool return after Palace loan

Mamadou Sakho has been an instant hit at the heart of Crystal Palace ’ s defence and whilst the central defender may only be on loan from Liverpool as things stand, there is every chance of us being allowed to make the move permanent in the summer if we do manage to avoid the drop.

Sakho moved to Selhurst Park in January after being frozen out at Anfield by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but the Palace Selhurst Park manager Sam Allardyce would like to keep the defender but admitted earlier this month that it would take a “big negotiation” to make his loan move permanent .

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that previous reports which suggested that Crystal Palace have an option to make Mamadou Sakho’s loan move a permanent deal in the summer are incorrect.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s game with West Brom this weekend, the German boss told reporters that there is no clause in the deal, which will be a blow to Palace fans.

The French international has been in great form for the Eagles since breaking into the squad in recent weeks and most fans would agree that they’d like to keep him at the club on a permanent basis.

MAMADOU SAKHO has ended his Liverpool nightmare by joining Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. But now he has been given an opportunity to make a fresh start in the Premier League, with an option to make the Palace move permanent in the summer if the club avoid the drop.

Mamadou Sakho has made an impact since arriving from Liverpool . Sam Allardyce has lauded Mamadou Sakho ' s arrival at Crystal Palace for giving his side more defensive stability - but admits a permanent deal for the Liverpool defender would require a "big negotiation".

However, Liverpool are apparently asking for around £30million for the 27-year-old and, if he carries on playing at his current level, there’ll probably be a club willing to splash the cash on him.

A high asking price might not completely rule Palace out of the running to sign Sakho but with no clause in place, he’s likely to have a large number of options as his disposal.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has been the subject of much controversy for some time now and since his move to Crystal Palace, he’s been earning plenty of plaudits. The towering Frenchman was shipped out on loan to the Eagles after it was made clear that there would be no route back into first-team contention at the club under Jurgen Klopp. Sakho secured a move to South London on the final day of the January transfer window and has since helped Palace to keep four clean sheets since his arrival. However, despite his clearly dysfunctional relationship with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, the powerful centre-back has insisted that he’d still be open to a return to the club, as quoted by Telefoot, and would still be willing to show his worth at Anfield. “I still have a contract for three more years. If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so. I was late for training, something that happens everywhere.” Sakho has been imperious in the short amount of time he’s been with Palace and with Liverpool’s defence still seemingly shaky, Klopp may have some thinking to do. “I paid a fine and I do not know what else I can do. It is up to the boss. He makes the decisions and I can only accept that. And we will see what happens if my future is elsewhere.
