  Rugby - Williams fined $1,600 over cocaine purchase Former All Blacks lock Alexander "Ali" Williams was fined 1,500 euros (£1,282) on Wednesday by a Paris court on charges of purchasing cocaine, a court clerk said. The 35-year-old Williams was charged by police for allegedly buying 2.4 grams of cocaine in February. Former Wallabies winger James O'Connor, who plays for Toulon, was also arrested and charged with possession.Williams played for Parisian club Racing 92 at the time of the incident and the club said afterwards that he would be fired. O'Connor was suspended by his club over the incident.

Coulson, 22, Grice, 27, and Jammes, 22, are accused of gang raping a 21-year-old woman in a hotel after she met them at a nightclub in Bordeaux following their Top 14 defeat by Bordeaux-Begles on March 11.

Under the terms of their judicial supervision they are forbidden from making contact with their accuser and of leaving France, and must report to a police station.

The Grenoble rugby club players – Irishman Denis Coulson, New Zealander Rory Grice and Frenchman Loïck Jammes, all in their twenties – have been placed under judicial supervision by the Bordeaux public prosecutor, who has also banned them from leaving the country until their trial begins.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that there was "serious or consistent evidence against them which makes their participation likely, as perpetrators or accomplices, in the offence of which they have been accused."

They face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years if found guilty.

Jammes' lawyer, Berard Boulloud, said the charge would allow "access to the case file to put forward a real defence for our respective clients, respecting the presumption of innocence".

The players were detained on Tuesday by police in Bordeaux after an initial round of questioning by officers in Grenoble on March 22.

  Three teenagers arrested after gardaí called to underage disco Gardai were called after a number of teenagers turned up drunk at an underage Easter disco this week, according to reports. The Irish Examiner is reporting that the officers were called to St Finbarr's Hurling and Football club in Togher, Cork City on Tuesday night after one youngster set off a fire extinguisher.The club's PRO Mick Comyns told the newspaper that a number of young people were drunk "but that happens at every youth disco.He said their policy was that they don't let anyone under the the influence into the event.

Three Grenoble players are set to go in front of an investigating judge and face being charged with gang rape , prosecutors in the French city of Bordeaux said on Tuesday. The announcement came after five Grenoble players were questioned by police for a second time earlier in the day.

Two of their teammates -- 24-year-old Irishman Chris Farrell and Dylan Hayes, 23, from New Zealand -- were also interviewed by police on Tuesday but were not charged.

A sixth Grenoble player, Australian lock Peter Kimlin, 31, was questioned last month, but was not among the group interviewed again on Tuesday.

The alleged victim told police she met the players in a nightclub and then went back to their hotel in Merignac, near Bordeaux.

Grenoble initially suspended the six players on March 17, lifting the suspensions 12 days later.

However the French Top 14 club insisted they reserved the right to take further measures should new information surface in the investigation.

Rape charges against former NFL star Ray McDonald were dismissed Monday after his accuserfailed to testify in court, the San Jose Mercury Newsreported. According to the report,the woman also filed a civil suit against the former 49ers defensive end and received a settlement of more than $100,000 prior to the criminal trial.Prosecutor Chris Lamiero was disappointed that he was forced to drop the charges against McDonald due to the alleged victim's failure to cooperate.
