Mourinho eyes Sanchez as Griezmann alternative

Mourinho eyes Sanchez as Griezmann alternative Manchester United could make a move for want-away Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in the summer. As reported by the Express, United boss Jose Mourinho will join his former side, Chelsea, Manchester City as well as Italian side Juventus in monitoring the Chilean’s situation at the Emirates. The player is reportedly ready to leave the club at the end of the season, with just one year remaining on his current deal at the club. Arsene Wenger dropped the former Barcelona man to the bench against Liverpool following rumours of a training ground bust-up between the players and Sanchez. Mourinho has made Atletico Madrid striker, Antoine Griezmann his number one summer transfer target but could make a move for the Chilean forward if a deal falls through for the Frenchman. It would be a repeat of familiar transfer business between the two clubs should a move happen. Manchester United signed Robin Van Persie from the Gunners in 2012 and went on to win the Premier League the following season.

Antoine Griezmann insists he is currently happy at Atletico Madrid, but refused to rule out the possibility of leaving for a " big club " in the future. That's the dream for every player - to be at big clubs like that, or Bayern Munich.

The France forward has become one of the hottest properties in world football since joining Atletico from Real Sociedad for £24m in 2014, scoring 79 goals in 147 appearances.

Sky sources understand Manchester United would be interested in signing the 25-year-old, should he become available in the summer, while Atletico's La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been mooted as potential suitors.

Manchester United Turn to Celtic Hotshot Moussa Dembele as Alternative Target to Antoine Griezmann Manchester United have identified Celtic striker Moussa Dembele as a candidate to boost Jose Mourinho's attacking options in the summer with the Premier League club aware that they may fail in their attempts to lure Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford. United are thought to be lining up a massive bid for Griezmann, but are keen to pursue a number of contingency plans should they be met with a swift rebuttal from Atletico, who are said to be holding out for a world record.

Griezmann, who only signed a new five-year contract extension at Atletico last summer, admits the prospect of playing for one of the world's biggest clubs could eventually tempt him away from the Vicente Calderon.

When asked about a possible move to either Barca or Real, Griezmann told L'Equipe: "Why not? That's the dream for every player - to be at big clubs like that, or Bayern Munich.

"But right now I don't see myself at Barcelona or Real, or anywhere else.

"I have no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid, for Paris Saint-Germain, China, the USA, Russia, or elsewhere."

However, Griezmann made it clear any decision on his future would not be dictated by whether manager Diego Simeone remains at Atletico.

"He [Simeone] will leave one day, and in the summer I called him up to check if he was going to stay on," he said.

"He told me of his plans for the season, that he wanted me to stay, and that made me feel happy.

"But we're not inseparable."
