Olivier Giroud says Arsenal's players want Arsene Wenger to stay on as manager beyond the end of his deal this summer.

Wenger revealed after Saturday's defeat at West Brom an announcement on his future was due "very soon", and Arsenal have since denied approaching Borussia Dortmund's Thomas Tuchel about the job.

There was no denial when it came to reports in several Monday newspapers claiming Wenger will sign a new contract, despite vocal opposition from some supporters.

The nature of the Hawthorns defeat - a fourth in five Premier League games - led some pundits to suggest Arsenal's players are no longer playing for their manager.

Wenger is Arsenal's longest-serving and most decorated manager having won three Premier League titles and six FA Cups in his two decades in north London.

A 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich, meanwhile, condemned the Gunners to a seventh straight last-16 exit in the Champions League.

Giroud, who was brought to Arsenal by Wenger in 2012, signed a new contract in January and is six goals short of a century for the club.
