Niall Horan not inspired to follow Harry Styles into acting

Niall Horan not inspired to follow Harry Styles into acting Niall Horan does not want to follow his One Direction bandmate Harry Styles by embarking on an acting career. Harry makes his film debut later this month (Jul17) in Christopher Nolan's Second World War epic Dunkirk. However Niall says he has no plans to try his hand at acting as he prefers the control being a musician gives him over his creative output. "I don't think I have the patience for it," he told The Sun. "There's a lot of waiting around. With music, you're doing it yourself and you feel like you're in more control. I'm a bit of a perfectionist as well - and I feel like I'm all right at this music thing, so I might stick to it." The 23-year-old has now released two solo singles, This Town and Slow Hands, both of which have charted in the top 10 in the U.K. and his native Ireland. Niall hasn't exclusively been devoting his time to his solo career since One Direction went on hiatus at the end of 2015. The sports fanatic has also set up Modest! Golf, a management company to help promising young golfers further their careers. Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan sprung a surprise by casting Harry, an acting novice, in his film alongside established stars like Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy. However Harry has impressed his co-stars with his acting abilities. During filming Mark, an Oscar winner, told London's Evening Standard newspaper, "What's really surprised me is he's really witty, really funny - he really makes me laugh. He's been ever so brave, not making any fuss." Dunkirk debuts in cinemas on 20 July (17).

Shania Twain is eager to collaborate with Niall Horan.

The 51-year-old singer-songwriter has developed a friendship with Niall through their mutual producer Jacquire King and Shania is keen to help write some of Niall's much-anticipated debut solo album, which he is currently putting the finishing touches to.

Shania said: "We need to write together. I think that would be a really successful, creative time.

"He's a sweetheart and we get along really well. I think he's great. I think he's really wonderful. He's very organic and natural."

But the chart-topping Canadian explained that in order for the dream to become a reality, Niall must begin by answering the phone when she rings.

Foo Fighters collaborated with Boyz II Men star on album

Foo Fighters collaborated with Boyz II Men star on album Foo Fighters' new album Concrete and Gold features an unlikely collaboration with Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman. The rockers previously revealed they'd roped in popstars to record vocals on the album at Los Angeles' EastWest Studios, but had remained tight-lipped about the identity of those involved. Asked by BBC radio presenter Matt Everitt what was the weirdest moment the band experienced making the record, frontman Dave Grohl said, "The guy from Boyz II Men walking through the parking lot and me saying, 'Oh dude, will you sing on our record?' And he does. On the heaviest song on the entire record. It sounds like if (Black) Sabbath and Pink Floyd made their It's the last song on the record, with the guy from Boyz II Men, his name's Shawn, singing and it's like 40 vocals stacked." Drummer Taylor Hawkins explained that the band have wanted to move away from their rock roots on an album for a while, but had always ended up sticking to the genre. "Every time we start a record Dave goes maybe we really need to get weird on this record," he recalled. "And then we always pull back and go 'let's just make a good rock 'n' roll record and I think we got weird’." One star rumoured to appear on Concrete and Gold is British soul superstar Adele, and Dave has previously teased a whole host of A-listers could be taking part. "You might have Shania Twain having a record-release party, or the guy from Deep Purple hanging out with Jason Bonham, or Justin Timberlake would be in for a couple of weeks, or Lady Gaga working with these other cats from Nashville," he said. "And every so often we'd be like, 'Hey, wanna come sing some backing vocals?' and they'd just f**king do it." Concrete and Gold hits shelves in September (17).

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she explained: "I am a little ticked with him because I texted him yesterday and he didn't answer me. Normally he answers right away. I said to myself, 'Well, we'll see about that!'"

Talk of a collaboration between Shania and Niall first emerged in May, when the One Direction star revealed he'd been spending time with her in the studio.

He said at the time: "I have spent a bit of time with Shania in the studio. The guy who produced her album, 'Jacquire King', is doing a lot of my album, so I spent a lot of time with her, and she's great.

"I am learning about [country music] and I think it's really cool. The whole country singing in the States is really cool. I know these guys and I am learning about their ways.

"I grew up on the likes of The Eagles and my mum had Garth Brooks and Shania in the house all the time and in the car when I was growing up.

"Country is the heart of the kind of music that I like. When you hear my album you will hear flavours of folk and country and stuff like that."

Shania Twain: 'Falling in and out of love inspires me musically' .
Shania Twain is still inspired by love despite a heartbreaking split from former husband and musical collaborator Mutt Lange. The Man! I Feel Like A Woman singer is releasing her first album since 2002, titled Now, which touches on the breakdown of her marriage. Shania's husband of 17 years left the star in 2008 after starting a relationship with her best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud. In a stunning twist the singer is now married to Frederic Thiebaud, the former husband of the best friend who betrayed her. In an interview with The Sun, the 51-year-old revealed the devastating split, which saw her lose both her husband and her musical partner, made her determined to be independent going forward. “I think, for me, love is a gift. It’s a necessity. But you’re still lucky if you have it, so you can’t count on it," she told British newspaper The Sun. “If I had never found love again, I’m not going to lay down and die. But I’m very lucky that I did. "And that of course re-energises all of the inspiration that any creative person needs. Falling in and out of love is always inspiration to be creative, for me.” In the years following, Shania withdrew from the spotlight to raise her son Eja, now 15, and lost her singing and much of her speaking voice after a tick caused her to contract Lyme disease. But despite her troubles, the five-time Grammy Award winner admitted the break came as a "blessing" as it gave her time to focus on being a mum.
