But that's not the only change in her post-wedding style. We've also spotted that Meghan has swapped her favoured cross-body bags and top-handled totes for the traditional clutch.

She ’s adapting to her royal duties nicely (the queen even passed one of her roles off to Meghan ) and her princess street style has been spot on. She 's swapped her jeans for polished dresses, fedoras for fascinators, and, now, her casual crossbody bags for elegant clutches .

Since becoming a Duchess, however, Meghan has been pictured arriving for royal visits with a clutch instead.

The reason is most likely due to the Duchess wearing more formal attire as the engagements she's now attending involve senior members of the royal family.

Royal expert Penny Junor told Harper's Bazaar UK: "I suspect that when Meghan was an actress and not a member of royalty, she kept money, make-up, and the kitchen sink in her cross-body bags - as we all do.

On a style note, Juror added: "Cross-body bags look great with jeans and trousers and more informal clothes, but not with designer outfits, especially when you are being photographed and scrutinised from every angle."

Meanwhile, etiquette coach Myka Meier from Beaumont Etiquette suggested that Meghan's bags have evolved over time to fit with the formality of the royal events and her new royal title as Duchess.

"Typically, a royal will wear a handbag that matches the formality and dress code of the event they are attending," Meier explained to Harper's Bazaar UK.

"While it is likely very little the Duchess may actually need to carry, as she has royal aids to help bring her anything she needs, carrying a small handbag allows for something to do with the hands."

Meghan had been criticised for breaking royal protocol by carrying bags in the past, as it's believed that both the Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge use a clutch or a handbag with a small handle to avoid shaking hands with people with whom it might be awkward.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to make their next public appearance at a commonwealth youth challenge reception next Thursday, 5 July. The royal couple will also attend Prince Louis' christening on Monday, 9 July.
